We made a big push last week to prep our beds as much as we could before the big "rainageddon" was predicted to strike the north coast. We tilled, hilled, amended, broad forked, laid irrigation, and covered as much as we could. Then we held our breath in hopes that it wouldn't all wash away...and very little rain fell at all. Sooo, this week, we planted!
Several varieties from our first sowing of the year are all tucked into our well prepped beds and its a satisfying sight. Probably the earliest we've ever gotten so many seedlings out. Hoping for calmer weather from here on out.
Today's transplants included:
Bells of Ireland, Dill, Larkspur, White Bishops Lace, Phlox, Stock, Statice, Scabiosa, Zinnias, Cosmos, Snapdragons, Strawflower, and several grasses!
Our Flower enterprise, Floravore Designs, is in full spring bloom and we have an abundance of flowers.
However, due to the stormy weather predicted, we can't bring them to market this weekend. So we want to bring them directly to YOU (or your loved one). This is a limited one time (or more if its goes well!) offer.

We had spring for winter and now we have winter for spring. Even with the persistent rain, we cannot ignore that our days have gotten longer and the promise of this next season's fertility blossoms around every corner of the farm. Fruit trees budding, spring corms blooming, baby goats bounding...have we mentioned the baby goats?! Blog on them to come :)
Moral of the story is, spring has sprung and the flowers are a bloomin' !!! We are pulling gorgeous ranunculus and anemones out of the field daily right now. Below you will find a selection of what our field has to offer this time of year. Feel free to subscribe to updates or direct email us for a price list. Sold in single and mixed bunches.
We have found the Icelandic poppy to be a tricky flower to grow, but the effort is proving well worth it! These whimsical beauties are coming on strong now and we can barely keep up with picking. They are so fun to watch grow. The flowers grow straight up, hidden inside pods on long stems. It seems to take forever for them to crack open the pod just slightly, but then, turn your back for a minute, and "pop!" they bust out of the pod and unfurl into an enchanting big papery peddled flower that glows in the sunlight.
