Education has always been an integral part of our farm’s mission. At Brunner Family Farm, we believe that sharing our skills & experiences is the foundation of a strong, resilient community. For over a decade, we’ve been teaching children and adults about the beauty of the outdoors, natural farming & traditional crafts, and expanding awareness of our local food web and ecosystem by hosting a wide variety of educational programs & events on our living learning environment in Fieldbrook, CA.
In 2020, Brunner Family Farm Camp was launched during the challenging times of the pandemic. We recognized the pressing need for safe, outdoor opportunities where children could connect with each other and with nature, fostering their social and emotional development. What started as a thoughtful response to a community need has since blossomed into a beloved annual six-week program.
We are incredibly proud of the community involvement that has grown around the camp. We now have multiple dedicated lead and assistant teachers, enthusiastic teen assistants, and a wide variety of local, specialty teachers who offer a spectrum of artisan activities that the kids absolutely love. It's truly a collaborative effort, and we couldn't do it without each and every one of you!
With the bestowment of the CDFTA Farm to School Grant in 2025, our commitment to expanding outdoor educational opportunities has only grown. We are expanding our infrastructure to support school & other learning groups in regular visits to the farm and partnered with Field to Forest, a local homeschool, enrichment program hosted here for 10 months of the year. It is our mission to share the delight of working with livestock & plants, facilitate learning through hands-on activities guided by experienced facilitators, strengthen our community by hosting nature-based events and inspire a life-long love of agriculture and the outdoors.
We need to your help bring this vision fully to life. We strive to keep our programs accessible, and in order to expand our offerings donations to the farm’s outdoor education programs are gratefully accepted. Financial contributions go towards purchasing materials, expanding our infrastructure to host a wider variety of events, and bringing in specialty teachers to share their unique skillsets. We also gratefully accept a wide variety of material donations, especially art supplies, natural craft materials, face paint (a camp favorite), classroom materials and learning tools.
Please donate to keep our outdoor education programs going strong and bring our vision to fruition! Thank you!
