FARM EDUCATION PROGRAMS
AT BRUNNER FAMILY FARM
Hands-on farm experiences, seasonal classes, and field trips that connect learners of all ages to sustainable agriculture, nature, and community.
Welcome to Farm Education at Brunner Family Farm
At Brunner Family Farm, learning happens outside — among pastured animals, actively farmed fields, and shifting seasons. Our outdoor education programs offer immersive, hands-on experiences for school groups, homeschoolers, families, and community learners. Here, children and adults alike discover sustainable farming, nutrition, ecology, and practical life skills in a living classroom that celebrates curiosity and connection.
Whether you’re planning a field trip, joining seasonal classes and summer camps, or exploring year-round enrichment, our farm is full of wonder and learning.
Summer Farm Camp
Every summer we host several weeks of farm camp for kids to learn about farming, engage with animals, make nature inspired art, and enjoy outdoor play!
We host Farm Camp for 5-6 week-long sessions each summer.
Each camp week is full of creative, hands-on activities led by our team of accredited teachers, farmers, and specialty community teachers. Campers will help care for our animals, explore the forest environment, get creative with fiber and nature crafts, tend and harvest an organic garden, cook and eat farm fresh food, and more. This engaging experience will nurture a life-long appreciation of farming and the outdoors.
This camp is designed to naturally inspire wonder, curiosity and many opportunities for learning, growth, and fun - all at our working farm in Fieldbrook.

Field to Forest
Homeschool Enrichment on the Farm
In partnership with Field to Forest, we host a nature-based homeschool enrichment program right here at Brunner Family Farm. Field to Forest provides a rich, experiential learning environment where children follow their curiosity, engage deeply with nature, and develop core learning skills in a supportive community.
Children participate in a variety of experiential activities — from sustainable gardening and animal care to plant identification, nature crafts, mindful play, and collaborative exploration. Facilitators honor each child’s pace of learning and foster social-emotional growth through play, inquiry, and rhythm with the seasons.
This program blends child-led discovery with gentle guidance, creating a rich outdoor classroom where the farm becomes a living curriculum and each day holds something new to explore.
Why Outdoor Education at Our Farm Matters
Hands-On, Real-World Learning
Our programs bring lessons to life — learners engage directly with animals, soil, plants, and ecosystems, developing practical skills and a deeper understanding of natural systems.
Connection to Land & Food Systems
In a world where many are far removed from the source of their food, our farm invites participants to see, touch, and taste where nourishment really comes from — building respect for agriculture and nature.
Community & Lifelong Curiosity
We cultivate community — of learners, teachers, families, and neighbors — fostering shared experiences that inspire curiosity, empathy, and stewardship.
Flexible Learning Pathways
From single-day field trips to ongoing seasonal series and year-long enrichment like Field to Forest, there are many ways to connect to the farm across ages and interests.
Who These Programs Are For
